12 July 2014 Gorazd Vecko The ITTF has decided to introduce a plastic ball with effect from 1 July 2014 but has allowed some events to be exempted in the lead up to the Youth Olympic Games. In a similar vein, the PTT Division has decided to introduce the new plastic ball for PTT events with effect from 1 January 2015.
This will allow supplies of the new ball to become available and players to get used to the plastic ball before the new calendar of events leading up to the 2015 regional championships and 2016 Paralympic Games.

Selections have been updated in singles F10 and M2 and in teams TM6-7 (GER) + TM3-4-5 (EGY).

Selections have been updated in singles (M1, M6 and M9) and in teams: TM9-10 (player added for NED) and TF9-10 (player added for BRA).
17 June 2014 Nico Verspeelt Tournament credit – RIO 2016
The following decision, made by the SOC regarding the tournament credit points for Rio 2016, is due to the fact that the matter has been raised and dealt not only by the para TT division but also by the ITTF president and ITTF EC in Tokyo.
The propositions are:
1. For Oceania, 110 tournament credit points and remove of the % requirement per year – new region and no tournaments organized in 2014.
2. For Africa, 110 tournament credit points and remove of the % requirement per year – no tournaments organized in 2014.
3. No change for the other regions.
4. All players playing in both PTT and ITTF competitions will accumulate the tournament credit points when playing in the ITTF major events (Continental and World Championships, Pro Tour, National Open, etc…).
As a result of this a working group will be established including people from outside PTT to look over our future qualification rules.

Don’t forget to ask your NTTA to complete and sign the single selections including the wild card allocation as well as the team propositions and to send to the Selection Officer before April 15 th. The team playing system will be decided by the TD after team acceptances and will be published on May 15th.

22 January 2014 Gorazd Vecko With effect from 1 January 2014, all players are required to have their names on the back of their shirts together with the 3 letter country code. This means that player numbers will no longer be used.

Selection modification in F9 and M11:
F9 – PARINOS (BRA) two times in the list – Regional and Rating
M11 – BALUSZEK (POL) to add on the rating selection – with his participation in team event in the Czech Open, he achieve his tournament credit.

IMPORTANT – don’t forget to complete a Wild Card request for all your accepted “alternate” players. Alternate position is not a priority to a Wild Card.

The period to achieve the tournament credit will be 2 years starting January 1st, 2014 and finishing December 31st, 2015. The amount of credit will be fixed during our Committee Meeting next February 2014.
