A player from Brazil, Airton Fontenele Rocha Filho, tested positive for the specified substance, Chlortalidone, as a result of tests undertaken at the 2013 ITTF PTT Americas Championships. Mr Filho accepted that he had committed an anti-doping rule violation and confirmed that this was a substance contained in medication prescribed for him. Mr Filho has therefore been suspended from all table tennis activities for 6 months from 27 August 2014, the results he obtained from the singles and team even.

Class 11 classification
Full classification procedures including “Computer testing” and the “Wasi test” will be organized during all Regional Championships in 2015 and in Nantes (France) in June 2015 and Taichung (Chinese Taipei) in September 2015.

Classification seminar
A classification seminar level B/C, including ID classification, will be offered during the European Championships 2015. In the other Regions, we are waiting for confirmation from the organizers if they wish to host a seminar and will confirm if requests are received from level A classifiers.
A classification seminar level A, ID classification not included, will be conducted if the organizers of factor 20 or factor 50 tournaments request.
Seminars which will be organized will be published on our calendar as soon as PTT has been contacted and confirms the seminar.

6 August 2014 The organisers of the Grand Prix Cote d'Azur scheduled for October 2014 have received an overwhelming entry for the event. As a result, their expectations have been exceeded and entries will close Tuesday 5 August 2014. For information, 26 countries have entered with 223 players where the limit had been set for 200 players.

The objectives were to build a responsive web site that adapts to different screen sizes and can be used easily on smart phones while improving navigation through a menu at the top of each page. Hopefully, things will get even better over time.

Don’t forget to ask your NTTA to complete and sign the single selections including the wild card allocation as well as the team propositions and to send to the Selection Officer before April 15th. The team playing system will be decided by the TD after team acceptances and will be published on May 15th.

With effect from 1 January 2014, all players are required to have their names on the back of their shirts together with the 3 letter country code. This means that player numbers will no longer be used.

Selection modification in F9 and M11:
F9 – PARINOS (BRA) two times in the list – Regional and Rating
M11 – BALUSZEK (POL) to add on the rating selection – with his participation in team event in the Czech Open, he achieve his tournament credit.
IMPORTANT – don’t forget to complete a Wild Card request for all your accepted “alternate” players. Alternate position is not a priority to a Wild Card.

The period to achieve the tournament credit will be 2 years starting January 1st, 2014 and finishing December 31st, 2015. The amount of credit will be fixed during our Committee Meeting next February 2014.
